Board Members


 

  • President: Nancy Speck  Message from the President - Nancy has been involved with FTP for more than 25 years, serving in many production capacities.  She has also held several Board positions, including service as President from 1996 to 2000.  Nancy is an Assistant Attorney General with the State of Maryland, working in Baltimore as the principal contract lawyer for the State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

 

  • Vice President: Mattie DarbyMattie has been involved with FtP since 2001, both onstage and backstage, and as the Special Events Chairperson. she hold a Masters Degree in Instructional Systems Design and currently teaches English as a Second Language with Frederick County Public Schools. Mattie lives in New Market with her two children.
 
  • Secretary: Pat Dickinson - Pat first joined FtP in 1992 working backstage for Two By Two, and has been active since that time working mostly in the production area.  She has been a previous board member, holding several positions.  Pat holds an Associates Degree in Business Management, and is employed at the Department of Energy as a management analyst

 

  • Treasurer: Ginny Brace
    Ginny Brace joined FtP in 1978 and was in the chorus and played Alfie's Doolittle's mother that year in My Fair Lady, FtP's first show at the Weinberg Center. She has also worked backstage, participated as a chorus member in musicals and has held several board positions. She returns in 2007 as FtP treasurer, a position she held from 1994 to 2000. She is retired from the Frederick Co. Public Schools and now works part-time as a bookkeeper for the law firm of Gordon & Simmons, LLC.

 

  • Play Selection: Scott Beadle - Scott first became involved with FtP in 1985. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts and an MS in Human Resource Development. He is currently employed as the Director of Training for DavCo Restaurants (Wendy's).

 

  • Planning: Karen Lewis Young - Karen holds an undergraduate degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA; and  two graduate degrees: M.A. in History from Columbia University and M.B.A. from Columbia University. She first became involved with FtP as a consultant to assist with FtP's first  fundraiser in May 2007. Karen is currently a freelance "marketing consultant".

 

  • Publicity: Jonny Kigin - Jonny first appeared in FtP's production of "The Melody Lingers On" in 2004. He holds a B.A. Degree in French and is a mortgage banker/broker in downtown Frederick.

  • Programs: Bill Moore, Jr. - Bill is a charter member of FtP. He is a two-term past-president and has enjoyed serving in several other Board positions. He is a native Fredericktonian and a retired high school math teacher. He enjoys traveling, theatre, and working as an actor and a director with FtP. Like to take out an ad? Program ad form.

 

  • Special Events: Jana Moberly - A retired middle school teacher, Jana now enjoys relaxing and redecorating her house. After joining FtP in the late 70's, she has worked back stage, stage managed, directed several shows, and has held previous Board positions.

 

  • House: Liz HabinaLiz joined FTP in 1989 and has served on the Board in several capacities over the years.  She has worked backstage, been Music Director and Stage Manager for several shows, however, her first love is actually performing on stage.  She was a Performance Major at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.  She is employed at CitiMortgage as a Refund Processor.

 

  • Marketing: Sue Houghton  MARKETING NEWS - Sue recently joined FtP in 2005. She holds a BS in Theatre with a concentration in Directing, and has a broad theatrical background. She currently works as a consultant in the television news industry. If you have a marketing opportunity or question for FtP, Sue would love to hear from you.
