Chicago: The Musical
July 30, 31, August 6, 7, 8, 2010

Directed by Susan Thornton
Book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse. Music by John Kander. Lyrics by Fred Ebb.

What becomes a legend most? For a couple of Jazz Age entertainers, it's all about fame, fortune—and murder. This Kander & Ebb classic, with Book & choreography by Bob Fosse set in prohibition-era Chicago, is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the "celebrity criminal." Based on a 1926 play of the same name by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins about actual criminals and crimes she had reported on, Chicago won six Tony Awards in 1997, including Best Revival – Musical.
