SCHOLARSHIPS


 

The Jeffrey W. Kight Memorial Scholarship

The Fredericktowne Players, Inc. has established an annual scholarship award of $1,000.00 in memory of Jeffrey W. Kight, a loyal member and friend who contributed countless hours of technical support to the Players.

The applicant must:

  1. Be a high school senior who will be attending college in the coming academic year.

  2. Have worked on a Fredericktowne Players' Production.

  3. Have at least a 3.0 overall Grade Point Average at the end of first semester of the current school year. (A copy of grade transcripts must be included in the application packet.)

  4. Submit two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a person having knowledge of the applicant's theatre experience.

  5. Submit a brief original essay (no more than one page typed, double spaced) indicating career objectives and plans for future involvement in theatre.

  6. Deadline is Friday, June 6, 2008

  7. Complete the application and mail to:

The FtP Theatrical Arts Scholarship

$300.00 awarded to one high school senior per school. The nominee is selected by the school's drama teacher. The nominee is someone who  has made significant contributions to the theatrical arts in his/her school. Nomination forms are sent to the high schools in mid-April.

 

The Director's Award

Free FtP Membership given to the top junior selected by the school's drama teacher. This individual is someone who made significant contributions to the theatrical arts in his/her school and would be a strong candidate in the future for either of the above scholarships. Nomination forms are sent to the high schools in mid-April.
